ArcelorMittal has started providing renewable energy to AMNS India's Gujarat operations from a 1 GW solar and wind facility in Andhra Pradesh built and commissioned for $0. 7 billion by its wholly owned subsidiary, AM Green Energy.
AMNS India, a joint venture 60% owned by Arcelor Mittal of Luxembourg and 40% owned by Japan's Nippon Steel, has lately started to receive clean electricity from the biggest renewable energy project in Andhra Pradesh.
By reducing AMNS India’s carbon emissions by 1.5 million tonnes each year, the project directly reinforces the steel producer purpose to accomplish a 20% decline in CO₂ intensity across its operations by 2030.
